PONOMAREV CHILDREN’S CHOIR «VESNA» («Spring»)
The Children’s choir «Vesna» («Spring») is the senior choir of the Chil-dren’s choir school «Vesna». In 2015 it will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary. The School is an educational and creative institution with a unique system of organization, a special atmosphere and great traditions. The Choir and the school were founded by distinguished artist of Russia Alexander Ponomaryov (1938-2012). Since 2012 the choir has been conducted by Nadezhda Averina, his student and follower, honorable luminary of art in Moscow, PhD (Art History), professor of Moscow Tchaikovky Conservatory, winner of international competitions.
The Children’s choir «Vesna» is well-known in our country and abroad. The choir was awarded by the most prestigious prizes at the International Competitions in Bulgaria, Hungary, Spain, Italy, Canada, France. In 2000 the choir won the Great European Choral Award – «Grand Prize Europe – 2000» (conductor A. Ponomaryov) . The last awards of the choir are 1st Prize and Grand Prize in Tolosa (Spain, 2006), 1st Prize and Grand Prize in Nyiregyhasza (Hungary, 2010) and 1st Prize and Grand Prize in Malcesine (Italy, 2012), International choral contest in Belgium (2014) and International choral Händel festival-contest in Germany (2014); all conducted by Nadezhda Averina.
The choir «Vesna» performed with its great concert programmes in Moscow, in about 50 towns of Russia, in 12 countries of Europe, Canada, China and Japan. The Choir performed with the well-known orchestras and conductors (E.Svetlanov, V.Fedoseev, G.Rozhdestvensky, M.Pletnev, D.Kitajenco, S.Sondetskis, L.Markiz, T.Zanderling, S.Bychkov and others).
The Choir’s repertory is wide and varied. During these years it has sung hundred of pieces of classical and modern music of different epochs, countries, styles and genres. The choir’s programs are recorded on phonograph records and 13 CDs, they are kept in funds of television and radio.
